The Financial Services Consumer Panel carried out an investigation which highlighted a large level of breaches on financial promotions including websites. Within this investigation they identified an incredible 79% of general insurance promotions and 47% of mortgage promotions did not comply with the Financial Services Authority (FSA) regulations.
Unlike other sectors financial firms need to consider the consequences of failing to meet the FSA regulatory requirements governing promotions. Many brokers have now removed their websites because of the risk of a large fine and enforcement action being taken against them.
